COMMUNICATIONS AND DESIGN FOR AN ACADEMIC PROGRAM
Website, Graphic, Print Design
OVERVIEW
As the Marketing and Communications Assistant for the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Virginia, I develop effective marketing strategies to boost program visibility and engagement. I've launched a quarterly newsletter reaching 3,000+ individuals and contribute to the online presence through weekly website updates, utilizing UX and graphic design for an engaging digital environment. I maintain program branding by crafting cohesive weekly advertising materials across platforms.
ROLE
UX, Graphic Design
DURATION
2023-2024, ongoing
TOOLS
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Drupal 9
I oversee event advertising, which includes our annual Conference on Jewish Life in the Diaspora. Here are a couple of my posters created using Adobe Illustrator.
I also create various print and digital advertisements, which for this event included 4x4 cards below and content displayed on University campus television screens, as illustrated on the right.
During the spring and fall of 2024, I had the opportunity to design promotional posters for lectures conducted by various visiting scholars, a snapshot of which is presented here.
Below are a few of the posters I created for our weekly Learning Together Lunch Hour Series in the fall of 2023.
To disseminate program news across the broader community and communicate faculty updates, event recaps, and pertinent information, I developed a comprehensive quarterly newsletter. The publication spans 15-20 pages and is crafted using Adobe InDesign. The positive reception from donors underscores the effectiveness of this newsletter as a valued resource for staying abreast of program developments.
Displayed here are a collection of posters crafted for the Jewish Studies Colloquium, a dynamic intellectual forum at the University of Virginia. This platform serves as a nexus for faculty and students within Jewish Studies, alongside participants from diverse departments and programs, facilitating monthly lunchtime dialogues.
